Golf Days

Throughout the season we run a series of golf days in different competition formats. These are important as they help us to raise much needed funds which we use to run the club and this website but also enable us to raise significant sums for the Captains' Charity. All members with a playing handicap are encouraged to play and often there is evening entertainment laid on afterwards.

The key fun competitions which are held each year are:
  • The Captain's Putt Out and Drive In. Held in February, this is the first fun day of the season and is dedicated to welcoming in the new Captains and thanking the departing Captains. The raffle of this event also helps the new captains make a good start by contributing to the New Captains' annual charity.

  • Fund Raising Day. Usually held in April, helps us raise much needed funds which prepare us for the coming costs of the season.

  • Junior Captains Day. Always a fun competition which helps to raise the profile of members of our youngest section to the rest of the club. They always make a good contribution to the Captains Charity from this event.

  • Lady Captains Day. Usually has the best halfway house of the season.

  • Senior Captain's Day. Although this is held mid week, everyone is welcome to participate and certainly the last few evening events linked to this competition have proved very exciting with after comedy dinner speakers and close up magicians providing the entertainment.

  • Captains Day. The penultimate golf day of the season. Usually it is a combination of everything that is good from the previous days as the men's captain tries to outdo his colleagues.

  • The President's Putter. Last golf day of the season in which we always try and get a good turn out with dancing into the evening.

Charity Days

At Brickhampton we see it very much part of our culture to raise money for both local and national charities. In 2018 we were elated to have raised over £11,000 through the events we held across the year.

In 2019, our selected Charities are Mind and the local Gloucester Branch of the Samaritans which we are sure you will agree are very worthwhile causes. Both organisations are very close to our hearts and we wish to raise all we can to support their work.
